Tomie dePaola - 1934년 미국 Connecticut의 한 아일랜드계 천주교 가정에서 태어남.
1965년 Sound 이래로 200여권의 그림책을 그리고 90여 권의 책을 씀.
1976년 Strega Nona로 Caldecott Honor Award를 수상.
1983년 Regina Medal 수상.
2000년 26 Fairmount Avenue로 Newbery Honor Award 수상.
