This episode features footage gathered at all points of the globe - bringing together the most awe-inspiring rivers from around the world - including their amazing features and creatures: the largest waterfalls, the highest dams, and the most powerful rapids. Also included are some remarkable creatures superbly adapted to life in the fast stream.

Specially created segments include a gracefully animated look at how the snakelike Seine got its name; there are stirring portrayals from the myriad of pond and river stories that permeate and link all world cultures; and there is a recurring throughline which follows our hero character (an animated origami boat) as it traces water's cycle from snow pack to stream to river to sea, and then returns again to start the cycle anew.
